Sacramento County Superior Court DUI Jurisdiction
All DUI arrests in the county or cities located within Sacramento County will be handled by the Sacramento County Superior Court. This includes DUI arrests in the cities of Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, Galt, Isleton, Rancho Cordova, Sacramento and the communities of Antelope, Arden-Arcade, Carmichael, Clay, Courtland, Elverta, Fair Oaks, Florin, Foothill Farms, Franklin, Freeport, Fruitridge, Pocket, Gold River, Herald, Hood, La Riviera, Lemon Hill, Mather, McClellan Park, North Highlands, Orangevale, Parkway, Rancho Murieta, Rio Linda, Rosemont, Vineyard, Walnut Grove, Wilton.
Sacramento County Superior Court DUI Court Process
All DUI cases are handled through the Sacramento County Superior Court. Because of the volume of DUI cases, Sacramento County Superior Court has a specific department that handles all DUI cases. Arraignments are handled in Dept. 2. Any motions or trial assignments are done out of Dept. 9 which is the master calendar department. All Felony DUI’s are handled in one of the jail court departments.
Sacramento DUI Court Specific Issues
On second and third offense DUI cases, the district attorney will usually request a bail motion at your first court date. On second and third offenses, the sentence will usually include some actual jail time.
